This has been the most exciting thing yet. I really love checkered patterns, as they closely resemble a Burtonesque (or Tim Burton) style. They are also used in many surreal interiors. I feel that both these designs sum up what theme the classroom is heading towards.

Here is a summary of how we did it (you need at least 5 hours):
- The wall was painted with a base paint of white
- The next day we drew up evenly size squares using a large ruler and attached masking tape to the outside of the squares that were to be black
- We painted alternating squares black
- The next day the masking tape was removed
